Period of contract: 3 months
Salary: -Ordinarily Resident (OR): RWF 5,964,917 (FSN-7)
-Not-Ordinary Resident (NOR): USD 39,994 (FP-7-Final step to be Determined by Washington)

The Embassy of the United States of America's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recruiting for an Executive Assistant to the Director.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Serves as Executive assistant to the Country Director and directly reports to him/her. Provides high quality administrative and programmatic support to the Director. Executes program office functions supporting the CDC Country Director. Serves a liaison and point of contact for external partners, other US Agencies and the Front Office of the US Mission in Rwanda on matters pertaining to coordination of meetings and other related events.

QUALIFICATIONS
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item
1) Bachelor Degree in Public Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Relation or related field from a recognized university is required.
2) 5 years experience of advanced administrative and/or technical support, of which three years within US Government, International or public organizations in providing support to senior leaders and managers is required.
3) Level IV English, Level III French and good knowledge of Kinyarwanda required.
4) Must have good knowledge of public relations, administration support and rudimentary knowledge of the health sector and public health environment. Must have good knowledge in assisting senior leader and managers in an organization.
5) Advanced and highly developed English writing skills, drafting reports and other documents with very little supervision and reviews required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools - Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet Explorer and other administration tools required. Knowledge of filing systems, database management to ensure quality record management for the Director is required. Must have excellent organizational skills.

SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that in the application the candidate fully address the required qualifications above.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizens EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
