Job Details Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) would like to announce the following vacant positions:

UNIT : General Directorate

1. Job Title: Communication & Public Relations
Reporting to: Director General

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree (A0) in communication or related field
• 3 years of experience in communication, public relations, marketing, advocacy experience preferable in environmental information awareness or related areas.
• Enough communication experience for managing communication risks and opportunities both internally and externally
• Knowledge of both English and French is compulsory
• Able to develop communication plans to promote environment management and easily disseminate them to the public and stakeholders.

UNIT: Environmental Regulation and Pollution Control

1. Job Title: Head of Department of Environmental Regulations and Pollution Control
Reporting to: Director General

Requirements:
• At least Bachelor’s Degree(A0) in Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Biology, Chemistry, Rural Engineering, Civil Engineering and
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental management.
• Good knowledge of regulations and standards setting systems, to have worked in such system for at least 2 years and enough experience in analytical chemistry management.
• Good leadership skills and able to work under pressure

UNIT: Research Environmental Planning and Development

1. Job Title : Director of Research Environmental Planning and Development
Reporting to: Director General

Requirement:
• At least Bachelor’s Degree(A0) in Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Rural Engineering, or related field and
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental management.
• Experience in research and management as well as planning and forecasting skills. Preferably in watershed management research projects
• General knowledge of GIS and remote sensing and information technology
• Good leadership skills and able to work under pressure

1. Job Title : Environmental Information Systems Specialist

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree (A0) in Environmental Sciences, Statistics, Information Technology, Natural Sciences or related field
• Good knowledge of GIS and Remote Sensing and Information Technology.

UNIT : Environmental Education and Mainstreaming

1. Job Title: Director of Environmental Education and Mainstreaming
Reporting to : Director General

Requirements :
• At least Bachelor’s Degree (A0)in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, or Education Sciences
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Environmental Management.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Good leadership skills and to work under pressure
• Familiar with development of environmental education and mainstreaming plans

UNIT : Climate Change and International Obligations

1. Job Title: Head of Department
Reporting to: Director General

Requirement:
• At least Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related field
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental management
• Good knowledge of international environment governance
• Good negotiation skills
• Good leadership skills and able to work under pressure.

2. Job Title : Environmental Convention Specialist (1)
Reporting to : Head of Unit

Requirement :
• Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Law or related fields
• Good knowledge of international environmental governance and financing
• At least 3 years of experience in environmental management
• Good negotiation and organization skills

Interested candidates must fulfill the said conditions above and fill an application form available on website of the Public Services Commission ( www.psc.gov.rw). The filled application form shall be accompanied by photocopies of the required degree and identity card of the applicant.
