mming is to ensure that vulnerable households in Rwanda achieve full, integral human development.
CRS seeks qualified Rwandan candidates for the following  five positions for an anticipated Hinga Weze program aimed to improve access to and utilization of nutrition-sensitive production and processing technologies, improve the capacity of smallholder farmers to manage natural resources and adapt to climate change, and increase general nutrition knowledge and adoption of appropriate nutrition practices. All positions are based in Kigali with field travel.
  1. SENIOR NUTRITION SPECIALIST
The Senior Nutrition Specialist will provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of integrated interventions to promote improved nutritional status at the household level through adoption of improved nutrition practices and behaviors, increased utilization of nutrient-rich crops, and increased household income. The Senior Nutrition Specialist will coordinate with the program team to develop high-impact integrated nutrition and agriculture activities and support effective coordination and alignment with other nutrition projects active in the target districts. The Senior Nutrition Specialist will be responsible for developing or adapting technical and training manuals and curricula and ensuring high quality capacity-building of project staff and other stakeholders in key nutrition/ agriculture interventions. The Senior Nutrition Specialist will also be responsible for providing cross-cutting guidance and technical assistance to Hinga Weze program staff regarding social behavior change communication strategy, implementation and evaluation.S/he will serve as the resource person for BCC and will lead the development of tools to deliver key behavior change messages to identified target populations for each area of the program. The Senior Nutrition Specialist will contribute technical assistance in the development and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) systems and collaborate with program MEAL staff in developing tools for nutrition-related program evaluations/barrier analyses and in the analysis of program monitoring data for program learning, to continually improve results and to ensure the program meets targets.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Required qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in public health, nutrition or related field; at least seven years’ experience in designing, implementing and/or providing technical assistance to multi-sectoral nutrition programs; demonstrated experience with implementation of essential nutrition actions; growth monitoring and behavior change communication activities, as well as the integration of nutrition, agriculture and savings group interventions, and comprehensive understanding of national nutrition policies and strategies.
  • Master’s degree in nutrition, public health with a strong nutrition component, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in nutrition sector, including at least three years in a senior-level technical advisory role
  • Experience in providing technical guidance on integrated, community-level nutrition interventions combining nutrition, agriculture and economic strengthening
  • Experience in designing and implementing behavior change communication strategies and technical approaches
  • Experience in the conception and development tof approaches and appropriate tools for delivering behavior change messages
  • Demonstrated results in achieving positive health-related behavior change
  • Demonstrated training capacity using adult learning techniques
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to people with a variety of interests and educational backgrounds through both formal and informal training
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising staff and leading teams
  • Strong leader and a team player, with the ability to collaborate with multiple project staff in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work well with people, good judgment and commitment to CRS’ mission
  • Fluency in written and verbal English or French, and fluency in Kinyarwanda
  • Familiarity with USAID programs and contracting is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to rural project districts around the country.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Rwandan nationality
