Role overview
The L3+ project is implemented by VSO, managed by the Education Development Center (EDC) and funded by USAID. It is an additional component of the L3 (Literacy, Language and Learning ) initiative. 
It runs in Gasaka, Tare and Uwinkingi Sectors of Nyamagabe district, and in Kibeho, Rusenge and Mata sectors of Nyarugu- ru district, both located in Rwandas’ Southern Province. 
The objective of this assignment is to translate from English to Kinyarwanda, and Kinyarwanda to English all written and audio L3+ Training materials, L3+ guides for teachers’, children and parents’ training and L3+ teachings strategies, tools and templates, and case stories of L3+ and L3+ reports and researches.
1.    Specific outputs 
•    Submission of draft translated tools and materials within 4 days after signing the contract.
•    Presentation, in English& Kinyarwanda, of the produced tools/manuals or materials.
•    Submission of an invoice and all translated tools in Kinyarwanda and English languages.
•    Submission of all materials produced in both hard and soft copies.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
2.    Required Qualifications 
The consultant must possess the following:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in translation linguist and literature, Special needs education
•    At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in translation and literature works.
•    Analytical understanding of the concept of Inclusive Education.
•    Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
•    Computer literacy
•    Ability to carry out written and verbal translation and produce a quality report.
Management /Supervision: 
The assignment requires a consultant based in Rwanda with expertise in conducting both written and oral translation and literature activities. Responsibility for the overall direction of the assignment would rest with VSO Rwanda. The consultant will report tothe Project Coordinator, The Project Coordinator for overall and day to day reporting related to the assignment.
Confidentiality of information: 
All documents and materials produced will be treated as confidential and used solely for VSO work. No information related to the assignment will be used by the consultant for any purpose other than the purpose stated herein, unless otherwise approved by the VSO Country Director.

Consultancy Period 
The assignment is expected to be completed in 4 days days from the date of signing of the contract and is expected to successfully achieve all the outputs and deliverables as detailed above.
