World Vision International (Rwanda) is a child focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programs in 15 Districts of Rwanda.
World Vision seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced national for the position of Economic Development Coordinator. This position will be based at the Head office, in Kigali and reporting to the Program Manager
 Purpose of the position:
To coordinate the implementation of THRIVE Progr
am in World Vision Rwanda especially in US funded APs (Western and Northern Regions) ensuring integration of all its parts and sectors especially Vision Fund Rwanda , WASH, Sponsorship, Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA), and individual grant projects. The ED Coordinator will implement strategies that will strengthen the THRIVE program as well as facilitate business growth in WV APs.

The major responsibilities:
Business Planning
  • Coordinate the implementation of the THRIVE Program Design Document
  • Provide technical support to Market Facilitators and Youth Ready Facilitators
  • Participate in AP designs and budgeting processes ensuring that the THRIVE concepts are streamlined and budgeted for.
  • Participate in THRIVE quarterly budget review
  • Participate in the proposal writing for funding THRIVE Program

Development & implementation of strategies
  • Coordinate the MIS rollout plan in the THRIVE APs
  • Coordinate the formation of Producers Groups, Commercial Village, Youth Cohorts and VSLAs  in the THRIVE APs
  • Work with VFR to develop suitable and with an “attractive” name and packaging for new products and services
  • Develop a marketing prospectus for THRIVE clearly indicating the VFR products
  • Identify, promote and document innovation from THRIVE Program
  • Work with VFR to develop and rollout a suitable training module for staff, communities and clients on THRIVE components and products
Project implementation and Monitoring
  • Coordinate the THRIVE Program as a customer driven Program
  • Monitor the implementation of THRIVE Program  on a monthly basis
  • Regularly monitor the marketing strategies and performance of VFR and ensure effectiveness in APs.
  • In collaboration with the Training Coordinator, FMNR/Agricultural Specialist, Agronomist, Market Facilitator and Loan Officer, coordinate Agricultural Loans Appraisal process
  • In collaboration with the Training Coordinator, Youth Ready Facilitator, and Loan Officer, coordinate  Youth Pathways Granting process
  • Monitor the impact of the Program and marketing efforts by relating them to operational indicators
  • Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories.
  • Regularly conduct surveys and focus group discussions to determine client satisfaction on the THRIVE products and services.
  • Regularly compile and analyze data and submit to the THRIVE Program Manager
  • Assist the VFR Branch Managers in monitoring the performance of the THRIVE products and services
  • Monitor business progress of all entrepreneurs
  • Write monthly progress reports
  • Monitor project activities in accordance with the project milestones, working collaboratively with DME Specialist.
Community engagement and Training
  • Innovatively mobilize communities and market Program products and activities for high adoption
  • Promote and use business forums in sectors and districts to market THRIVE/VFR products and to function as coaching and mentorship forums.
  • Lead in the training of staff and Participate in the training of communities and clients on THRIVE Pillars.
  • Provide on the Job coaching and mentoring to Market Facilitator and Youth Ready Facilitator
Communication
  • Produce and timely submit Monthly Management reports (MMR), Quarterly reports, and Annual Reports to THRIVE Program Manager
  • Prepare quarterly press releases meant for national dailies and international releases on THRIVE Model.
  • Develop and circulate THRIVE Model promotional material, e.g. brochures, leaflets and fliers
  • Document lessons learnt and better practices on THRIVE Model
Child Protection and Wellbeing
  • Monitor the impact (negative % positive) of THRIVE on the wellbeing of children.
  • Ensure that THRIVE Program components, products and activities do not contribute to any form of child abuse or infringement of child rights
  • Promote and sensitize communities, clients and other stakeholders about children’s rights and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that child protection policy and guidelines are strictly adhered to among all staff, communities and clients you interact with.
Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification required:
  • Minimum of a Masters degree in agricultural sciences, economics, development and business studies.
Experience: 
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience
Technical Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in proposal writing and resource mobilization
  • Business oriented mind set
  • Track record demonstrating high integrity, reliable and dependable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Networking and influencing skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
