POSITION: Warehouse Worker

OPENING DATE: February 15, 2017

CLOSING DATE: March 1, 2017

WORK HOURS: Full-time 40 hours/week

SALARY: Ordinarily Resident (OR): FSN-2: 3,813,980 RWF Annual Gross salary

Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): FP-CC: 20,829 USD

*Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.

The selected candidate must be able to start work immediately after receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications, or their candidacy may not be considered.

The U.S. Mission in Kigali, Rwanda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Warehouse Worker.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

Incumbent performs unskilled manual labor and manual supply tasks including, but not limited to moving furniture, and light-to- heavy objects, cleaning of warehouse and embassy residences during make-readies, washing vehicles utilized by Warehouse staff, and setting up tents and other Warehouse equipment.






QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.


  1. EDUCATION: Completion of Primary School is required.


  1. EXPERIENCE: Six months in warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of warehouse and general labor experience is required.


  1. LANGUAGE: Level II (Limited knowledge) of Kinyarwanda and Level II (Limited knowledge) of English (writing/speaking/reading) is required. (This will be tested.)

If claiming conditional eligibility for U.S. Veterans’ preference, applicants must submit proof of conditional eligibility. If the written documentation confirming eligibility is not received in the HR office by the closing date of the vacancy announcement, the U.S. Veterans’ preference will not be considered in the application process. ** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:


  1. Management may consider any of the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.


  1. Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.


  1. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.


  1. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a local security certification.
