Swisscontact,Private Sector Development and Entrepreneurship Coordinator Jobs in Rwanda

Swisscontact promotes economic, social and ecological development by supporting people tosuccessfully integrate into local commercial life. The focus of its systemic interventions in the private sector is the strengthening of local and global value chains. Through its projects, Swisscontact enables access to professional training, promotes local entrepreneurship, creates access to local financial service providers and supports the efficient use of resources with
the goal of successfully promoting employment and income generation.
Swisscontact is currently implementing the second phase of an SDC (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation) programme in Rwanda and is looking for the following established professionals to join its team in its Kigali head office.
Private Sector Development and Entrepreneurship Coordinator
Required profile
  • A professional with at least a Bachelor degree in Business administration, economics or other related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Private Sector Development/Entrepreneurship promotion
  • Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English and French
  • Readiness to travel and work across the districts of the Western province
  • An advanced level in communication and negotiation skills
  • A good level of IT skills and knowledge of MS office
  • A high level of integrity.
Scope of responsibilities
  • Work with the project team in overall project implementation by advising and conducting activities related to Private sector development, entrepreneurship and employment creation
  • Work in close collaboration with PROMOST’s field officers and liaison with potential employers
  • Support a team of 20 freelance entrepreneurship facilitators dispersed in the Western Province
  • Team up with external consultants to further improve the capacity of these entrepreneurship facilitators
  • Maintain a good working relationship with partners such as PSF, BDF and financial institutions
  • Define further trainings and further support for promising Start-ups and potential employers
  • When necessary support the PROMOST colleagues in Bukavu and Bujumbura in their task to strengthen the local entrepreneurship support systems
  • Report on Private Sector Development and Entrepreneurship activities in collaboration with the Monitoring and Results Measurement coordinator.
