In order to respond to our growing market with the right human capital, we are currently looking for a vibrant team player in the Finance Department.
JOB TITLE:                             INVENTORY AND TAX OFFICER
REPORTS TO:                        TAX MANAGER   
The Inventory and Tax Officer effectively monitors stock levels and all inventory activities in the brewery to ensure all transactions are appropriately posted; He/she is also accountable for the collection of tax-related information, reporting to taxation authorities in a timely manner as well as advising management on the tax impact of various corporate strategies.
A.    Inventory
Monitor and reconcile stock levels
  • Verify stock levels and transactions performed by store managers: finished products store, spare parts store and brewery warehouse,
  • Ensures that daily postings by brewing and packaging functions to GL interface are complete & accurate,
  • Update GL with inventory activity and perform daily & monthly reconciliation of source documents with postings by stock clerks,
  • Co-ordinate the monthly physical stock verification of all stocks and reconcile with GL balances,
  • Investigate inventory variances arising from the reconciliation of the monthly stock count exercise,
  • Present proposal of inventory write-offs/ adjustments for discrepancies to appropriate approving authority,
  • Produce monthly inter-location inventory transfer reports,
  • Produce monthly report on stocks in quantity and value,
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and stock utilization.
B.    Tax
  • Ensure all tax returns are done in a timely manner (Excise, VAT, WHT, Income Tax, RSSB),
  • Create tax data collection systems,
  • Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner,
  • Prepare and update tax provision schedules and all documentation related,
  • Ensure all tax accounts are reconciled at the end of each period,
  • Ensure daily reconciliation between Sage X3 and EBM data,
  • Ensure export procedures are followed,
  • Update the company sales tax database as tax rates change,
  • Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings,
  • Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues,
  • Research the basis for tax positions to be taken,
  • Advise management regarding the tax impact of corporate strategies
  • Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities,
  • Any other duty assigned by his supervisor.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or a similar field.
  • Proven experience of 2 years minimum in Accounting or tax field,
  • Knowledge of one accounting software,
  • Knowledge of tax law,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools (Intermediate level of Excel, Word).
The position is based in Kigali, Rwanda and is a full-time permanent job.
