Bings Scholarship for International Students in New Zealand



Applications are invited for master thesis scholarship from students undertaking the thesis year of a Masters programme at a university in New Zealand.  The scholarship supports postgraduate students at Master’s level to carry out research in the fields of medicine, veterinary science, agriculture, psychology, psychiatry or theology.
The funds for this scholarship are provided by the income from a bequest made by Mrs Elsie Violet Wells.
Course Level: Scholarship is available for students u
ndertaking the thesis year of a Masters programme at a university in New Zealand.
Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded in the fields of medicine, veterinary science, agriculture, psychology, psychiatry or theology.
Number of Awards: Not Known
Scholarship Award: 
  • The value of each award is $2,000.
  • Normally one scholarship is awarded each year.
  • Each award shall be tenable for one year and that year shall be the thesis year of a Master’s degree.
Scholarship can be taken in New Zealand
Eligibility: Applicants will be:
  • New Zealand citizens or permanent residents
  • undertaking full-time study at a NZ university
  • in the thesis year of their Master’s degree in the year of tenure.
Nationality: Citizens of any nationality can apply for this scholarship.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have their previous degree.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
