Job Title: Business Development Expert
LG-Consult Ltd is a purely a private consultancy firm established by the Rwanda Association of Local Government Authorities (RALGA) to contribute in Revenue Generation and  RALGA’s financial sustainability. LG Consult Ltd renders a range of consultancy services including; HRM and Recru
itment, Research & Surveys, Assessments, surveys, Planning Trainings, supplies and etc, to public and private institutions. To get to its targets, LG Consult Ltd is recruiting a competent expert who will be ready to start his/her office immediately.
Job purpose: The Expert is needed to bringing in new business to the company through a variety of sales techniques, Do the bidding by preparing Technical and financial proposals, Initiate & execute strategic MoUs and build business networks to attain Revenue growth.
Our desired/ ideal Candidate:
  • Ability to bring in new business and has conducted consultancies in the past
  • A good writer especially for quick business concepts and consultancy proposals.
  • S/he must be self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed with less supervisory eye from his/her Manager.
  • Well conversant with the government of Rwanda’s development tools and their implementation framework, including SDGs, Vision 2020, EDPRS, Districts Imihigo.
  • Needs no/less close supervisory arm but driven by the set revenue targets
The applicant requirements and competencies:
Education: Having a bachelor’s degree. However, a master’s degree will add more points. The required academic discipline will include any one of the following; Economics, Rural Development, Business/Public Administration, Development Studies, Project Management Entrepreneurship, Public Policy, strategic management/policy, Gender and Gender Economics, Governance, Political science, Marketing and Journalism.
Experience: Minimum five years of experience in conducting consultancies -proven by atleast two relevant certificates of good completion OR, Demonstrated track record of 5years engaged to writing private and / public technical and financial proposals OR 
Having 3 years working experience in government institutions or /reputable non government institutions with atleast 3 years experience in business development field/ Consulting.

  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary stakeholders from various domains,
  • Capacity to fashion new ways to make company’s business growth and thrive in the face of competition, Ability to communicate effectively, understanding of Rwanda’s, Regional and International policies.
  • Good price and product negotiating skills
  • Conceptual and analytical skills
  • Innovative capacity to fashion new ways to make the company’s business grow and thrive in the face of competition.
  • Ability to produce effective and clear communication, both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of general business procedures, Government of Rwanda’s development programs and policies, regional and International and universal policies and procedures.
Some Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively Identify Consultancy Opportunities and develop technical and financial proposals in line with the required procedures in the Terms of References.
  • Creating, negotiating and closing commercial /business /consultancy agreements
  • Collaborate with a team of consultants and the company Manager to identify new or enhanced profitable ventures and recommend revenue growth opportunities based on customer feedbacks;
  • Create a monthly commercial analytics of the business and report to the manager for proposition.
  • Cold calling of existing company’s potential customers to build strong business relationships.
  • Creating, negotiating and closing commercial agreements both supply of goods and services including consultancies.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the company Manager in the interest of the company.
  • Build the company’s network, market position, and achieve revenue growth by driving all company products/service go-to-market activities.
